Tobacco

Smoky, seductive and transgressive, the olfactory note of tobacco embodies the warmth of sweet and aromatic scents. Its rich, soft and velvety nuances give an enveloping and smooth character to the notes it combines with.

Tobacco became famous in Europe thanks to a French doctor, Jean Nicot, from whom the name of nicotine derived. In fact, it was Nicot who introduced it as a medicinal plant to Caterina de' Medici, to cure her migraines. To praise the therapeutic virtues of the plant, in honor of Caterina, tobacco was called "herba reginae".

Tobacco was considered a sacred plant, whose ritual use in America and Egypt dates back to the ancient times, when it was found in the tombs of some pharaohs. In fact, it was believed to be able to allow spiritual communication with higher cosmic energies. Even today it represents a useful tool for the divinatory techniques of shamans and spiritualists.
