Description

Infused with green, aromatic and intense scents, coffee is an olfactory note that embodies deep, woody and persistent facets. These characteristics make its fragrance particularly open and versatile when combined with other notes.

History

The origin of coffee is surrounded by myth and mysticism. It is said that it was first found in Ethiopia, where it played an important role in the trade between the East and the West. According to the legend, its discovery is attributed to an Ethiopian shepherd, who realized the potential of his renowned beans when noticing that his goats had become incredibly strong and restless after consuming the coffee.

Popular in Europe since the 17th century, coffee spread rapidly and caused religious problems. In fact, it was considered by priests to be the "devil's drink" due to its energetic and exciting effects. Pope Clement VIII therefore prohibited its use, proposing to ban it.
